Wireless charging for smartphones isn't new but, until now, iPhone users have had to rely on a
case if they wanted to ditch the Lightning cable. The new iPhone 8 and iPhone X are sure to give wireless charging a much-needed boost.
Apple is releasing its own AirPower wireless charging pad sometime next year, but iPhone users won't be lacking for charging options in the meantime. All of the new iPhones rely on the Qi wireless charging standard meaning there are already plenty of accessories that will work.

You don't have to be at home to take advantage of the benefits of wireless charging. iOttie's iTap is one of the more well-reviewed wireless car chargers available, and is a great way to ensure your phone remains topped up for up for the duration of your commute or road trip. One thing to consider, however, is that it relies on magnets to hold your phone in place, which means you'll have to attach a thin metal plate directly to it—you can still use a thin case, though.
2 Anker PowerPort Wireless 10

Anker is a name synonymous with charging, whether it's battery packs or cables, so it's no surprise that the company's also a go-to choice for many when it comes to wireless charging. It's PowerPort Wireless 10 only offers 5W of charging out of the box, however, which will be a bit slow for some phones. You'll need to buy the separate Quick Charge 3.0 wall charger ($16) to take advantage of the PowerPort's 10W fast charge mode.
3 Belkin Qi Charger

Belkin's charger may not be one of the more budget-friendly wireless chargers on the mark, but the device provides some of the fastest wireless charging around (providing your smartphone supports it). What's more, unlike the majority of Qi-based wireless chargers, this one promises to work with cases up to 3mm thick.

4 Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Stand

Like Apple, Samsung's smartphones rely on the Qi wireless charging standard, so don't make the mistake of thinking it's chargers are only for its own phones. That's a good thing, too, since Samsung makes some of the most consistently well-reviewed chargers. Unlike standard charging pads, this one can prop your phone up at an angle while its charging, letting you keep an eye on important notifications or make a video call.

One of the more affordable and colorful options, the TYLT Vu is good charging pad if you want to see if you like the way wireless charging works. It's tilted stand also makes the phone easy to check throughout the day, making it a good charger for your work desk. You can choose from a couple other colors as well.

If you're looking for some more unique wireless charging options, you may want to skip your usual electronics retailer and check out Ikea instead. The Swedish furniture retailer has fully embraced the Qi wireless charging standard and incorporated it into a range of its products, like this LED desk lamp with a charging station built into in its base. It even packs a USB port for good measure to let you charge your wired-only devices as well, and like all Ikea items, this is an in stone-only lamp.
