Google Assistant Announced for Third-Party Smart Speakers, LG Appliances

The company also announced a partnership with LG, letting consumers control appliances from the South Korean company using Assistant. Over the course of this week, Google says more new speakers with Assistant will be announced. LG separately announced on Wednesday that all its 2017 Wi-Fi-enabled smart home appliances now support Google Assistant, and alongside the previously introduced support for Amazon's Alexa voice assistant. LG also utilises its own intelligent voice platform, Deep ThinQ.
